‘Himalaya’ is one of India’s leading natural brands for health care and cosmetic products and we love how comforting, accessible and affordable they are. Everyone experiences hair fall at some point in their lives and it’s not fun seeing your hair clog the drain in the shower or, stuck in your hairbrush after just one use. Hair fall is commonly caused by emotional stress (which is so prevalent these days) and then having to deal with the fact that you’re losing your hair just adds to your woes. In order to escape the vicious circle of stress and hair fall, the new Himalaya Anti Hair Fall range could be just what you’re looking for. This range includes hair oil, shampoo, conditioner and a hair cream, all four of which are enriched with ‘bhringraja’ (Ayurvedic herb). This herb is known to prevent hair fall, premature greying and split ends as well as promote hair growth and vitality.

Step one – Himalaya Anti-Hair Fall Hair Oil

Price: Rs.100 – Net Content: 100 ml – Shelf life: 36 Months

Apart from Bhrinraja, the oil contains amalaki that strengthens the root shaft, helps prevent hair fall. It contains Neem and Bilva that prevent scalp infections and keep hair healthily. The best part about this product is that it is not sticky, I personally don’t have a problem with sticky oils, but for those of you who do, this is a great oil to switch to. If you want to use this product as part of the anti-hair fall range, massage it into your scalp and hair and then wrap a hot towel over it for 30 minutes before washing it out. You can also apply it daily, or the night before your hair wash day if you don’t like stepping out with oily hair. I prefer to apply it at least 3 – 4 times a week (along with a once a week coconut/castor oil hair pack). I do this so that I see faster results plus I love head massages!

Step two – Himalaya Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo

Price: Rs.130 – Net Content: 200 ml – Shelf life: 12 Months

The shampoo contains Butea Frondosa that helps reduce hair fall due to breakage, it conditions and improves the texture of your hair and works on dyed hair too. According to the directions on the container, you’re supposed to apply the shampoo onto your hair and leave it in for 2-3 minutes. However, if you’ve used the oil before repeat the above step a few times, in order to get all the oil off your scalp.

Step three – Himalaya Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner

Price: Rs.90 – Net Content: 100 ml – Shelf life: 24 Months

The third product is a conditioner containing chickpea, a good source of protein that strengthens your hair at the root. Unlike most conditioners, you can apply this to your scalp, but make sure you apply towards the ends of your hair as that requires more hydration.

Step four – Himalaya Anti-Hair Fall Cream

Price: Rs.75 – Net Content: 100 ml – Shelf life: 24 Months

The cream is the last step in the process, however you can use this in place of the oil (step one) if you like. This product smells great and it is so nourishing and affordable. Apply a generous amount to your scalp and the rest of your hair, massage it in and wrap a hot towel (soak in hot water) over it for about 30 minutes before washing. This will allow your pores to open and absorb the cream, strengthening the hair follicle. If you want to use this as the final step, apply liberally to your scalp and hair and let it dry naturally. For best results, make sure to wash off all the oil from your hair to avoid greasy hair after drying.

Finally, my favourite product of all is the oil, as someone who is trying to combat hair fall and get long hair fast, this oil is a definite rebuy. Oiling hair is so therapeutic and relaxing so that in itself can help with emotional stress connected to hair fall.
