“Sometimes the people around you wont understand your journey. They dont need to, its not for them.”

A few days back, I was leaving for work wearing a simple sleeveless top & jeans. My dad asked me to wear a jacket as I travelling via train. The way I’ve been raised, we were given the freedom to do whatever we like and to dress however we chose so his comment really took me my surprise. After he saw the look on my face he continued “You are traveling by train if it was a car then I wouldn’t have asked you, it’s not safe with the kind of people who travel from train ” What he said made sense but what pissed me off is that we are living in 21st century and we still have so many of such small-minded _______ (Fill in the blank with whatever you feel is appropriate.). I know India is growing but damn it moving on a snail pace. For how long do we have to shy away from wearing whatever we want just because of other people? I am one of those who get dressed according to the occasion and where I’m going but Jeans and tank top, even this these people can’t handle.
I was having a conversation with a couple of friends when the same topic emerged. One of them said that she stopped traveling from trains because of the looks she got. One said that whenever she has to travel by train she makes sure she wears a Kurti. Then someone made a comment of being glad we are in Mumbai because its still safe here than in cities like Delhi. Rapes, Molestation and then staring at women as if they are walking talking Tandoori chicken (Sorry for the choice of words, had to calm myself down) I’m outraged by some of the men in our country and I don’t know what to do to change this situation. This helplessness is getting to me and I feel we all need to take a stand but how ! Should I stop wearing whatever I want to if I don’t want to get eve teased? I seriously don’t know. All we can do is pray for a better India and a better tomorrow.

I personally love this form of style on you. It gives off the impression you can kick-ass the world at its place xD 😀 Mash'Allah, you're beautiful :3

And on the endnote, I'd say, I agree to every word of it. Since you reach to a lot of girls, maybe you can pick this topic up and I can help you and we can do this guideline type thingy on how women can handle such 'oglers'.

u look b'ful.
on a serious we can never expect India to change. it's our problem. we have to raise voice. laws and other things can't do much unless we instill fear in the mind of those creepy men who do all crimes and society force us to follow all those awkward instructions.
i have observed that those who prey are basically coward. let's fight back and say no to their advances.
we are girls, not puppets
